l recommend you find some hobbies or interests, not just for a CV but for a more fulfilling life.

Mention things like Snowboarding, maybe a martial art, maybe a musical instrument, photography but make sure it is something you know a little about, just in case they ask. Team sports are more difficult to lie about

Well l would not advise making anything up because you will always get found out.

Team sports are generally what they look for to show you can work well with others.

As you are looking for bar work put down clubbing and partying!

Think that is silly? Someone working in a bar needs to be outgoing so they dont want some one whose hobbies are Stamp collecting and Bird Watching do they?

On hobbies & interests, the key rules are:

- avoid saying those that r dangerous (e.g. u like to skydive) because unless this is an important top position where they really chase YOU, high risk = high insurance costs

- highlight those hobbies & interests that shows u know how to work with a team

And yes, do not say clubbing & partying because while that connotes a fun loving personality, it also tells them that u may be late sometimes or not show up for work because u have a hangover.

You need to show them that you do individual Hobie, but also you like and you enjoy doing things with other people, to show you can work get along with other people, ( team work ) so you can say you love to play squash and Tennis, but also you love football.

Please do not make anything up, if u get found out u will blow the interview & could get sacked at some later point!

If it is bar work, u really do not need that section. They r not looking for u to tell them you're a part-time international chess grandmaster ;)

If u do stuff like, say tennis, gardening etc by all means put it down. But if ur interviewer then asks about where u play or something about ur garden then u need to have a convincing answer ready.

If u put down extreme frisbee u may well get asked what league etc - sod is law says that whoever is interviewing u is the county champion!

Employers have long since got wise to the fact that people put 'interesting' hobbies on their CV & will question them. They do not care if u do not actually spent ur weekends experimenting with companion planting techniques, but they do mind very much if someone would lie
