Hi, I've just accepted a 2nd job. Both my jobs are part-time, but my new job pays me considerably more. I am quite sure I will be emergency taxed on this new job, so is there a way to change the codes? l would not mind being BR taxed on my first job, as it more like a weekend temporary job which offers me roughly 15hrs and my new one is a 5 days a week permanent job with 18.5 hrs. So, can l kind of exchange my tax codes between these 2 jobs?

Discuss it with HMRC helpline. The number is in the phone book, but if your main office is not local they will give you the correct one, which is cheaper than 118. Have your N l number and tax ref handy( the PAYE ref of the first job) if possible

because your jobs are part time the tax office will split your tax code between the 2 if you inform them and you will end up paying the normal tax rate.

Contact your tax office, and ask them to change GCD (main tax record) and sub (sub-source) around, with code numbers amended accordingly. We are half way through this tax year, and depending on how much salaries are, and when the two payrolls are done, l have to warn you it is possible, for this tax year, you may end up overpaid or underpaid. l suggest that when you get forms P60 next April, you send to tax office, and ask for a computation.
