l have an interview for a management position tomorrow, can you give me some pointers. It is been a few years since I've been interviewed for anything. What do l need to take with me, anything?

Have a copy of your resume with you in case they ask you for it. Also have your prior employers' addresses and phone numbers and numbers for personal references. Relax and be yourself. :)

Confidence is key. Let them know you have a vested interest in helping the company out, and that you have the right character traits to do so.

1) Be sure to look the interviewer in the eyes
2) Do not discuss salary
3) Do not bash any of ur old managers/supervisors
4) Do not be afraid to ask questions, if something they say does not make sense to you, say so!

Be sure to have an extra copy of ur resume with you. Even if the prospective employer already has one, sometimes it is good to have to look over before u go into the interview, plus sometimes it helps to look at it as they talk to u about what is on it (Ie: They say ''Oh l see u were at Company XYZ for 3.5 years, could u elaborate on what you're duties were? u would be able to look down & start elaborating)

Try to find out in advance what the company is business is about. State how it will be beneficial to the company to hire you, what you can do for the company. And ask a few questions about the work environment that would give the interviewer a chance to show you how the company responds and not make the interview just a one way street. Dress appropriately and smile and make eye contact when speaking and being spoken to.

Learn more about the company & ur job position. Why r u interested in this job, & in this company? Be prepared to answer questions about ur past work history, including those in management positions. You might be asked about what u consider ur best accomplishments, how u handled a challenging situation in ur previous job. You may also be asked about ur goals. Where to u see yourself 5 years from now? Take copies of ur resume, a positive attitude & self confidence with you.

There r only two points u need to know or hear.

First, the greeting is 75% of the interview. From the time u walk into the room, say hello, maybe shake hands, sit down & break the ice, is 75% of the interview. During that initial impression, the interviewer decides if he/she likes u & thinks u r a fit for the workplace. That is CRUCIAL!! The rest of the interview is second to that.

One of my best friends l met because he interviewed me for a job once. We really hit it off but the company cancelled the position before he could offer it to me. Later, l worked at a job where his company was a customer & we remembered each other. We became friends. He told me a year or so later, ''You know Liam, l knew l wanted to hire u 30 seconds into the interview!'' He said, the way l looked, greeted him, smiled & settle into the seat, *BANG* He had an instant connection with me. He wanted me. he then explained that the girl who he interview next, it was the opposite. She entered the room ginergly, nervous, make poor eye contact & spoke very softy, really had a lack of confidence. He said he did not want her & knew it within 1 minute of the interview starting.

The second point is, make it sound EASY for the interviewer to want to hire you. l do not want to put words in ur mouth but saying things like, '' l am a bit nervous because this is the job I've been looking for! or '' l was very excited when u called because l really liked the job description when l saw it advertized!'' or something u can think of that is genuine. Sometimes an employer has a hard time selling a job to potential candidates & they love hearing that the person already wants it. It makes their job a lot easier. The flipside is one where the person comes into the interiew not sure about what the job is & if it interests them at all. If this is a job u really want, tell them at the start that u know what the job is about & u really want it!

And make a strong, warm impression at the start of the interview.
