Will any fundamentals change in the way we manage our markets? How can we prevent this from happening again?

l would like to hope it will..but l believe it wont. The fundamentals on how we manage ourselves will likely always remain the same. We have to be will to adapt & evolve the way we do business to a changing market. Times change & we have to change with it. 20 years ago we did not use computers like we do today..but the fundamentals of business r still the same.

As for preventing it, there is not too much u can do on ur own. You need to have some money saved & be willing to change ur game plan as hurtles arrive.

Absolutely. This is bound to happen over and over again. It has been happening,(not quite on this scale), every 8 to 10 years. As long as there is greed, this will continue.

Some new regulations may be enacted to protect borrowers and investors in financial institutions.
There is nothing, however, that will prevent future recessions. The law of supply and demand cannot be repealed by congress. When demand is high the economy flourishes, but high demand creates overproduction which leads to a downturn in the economy.

The fundamentals will change for real estate and financial stocks but the basic methods of operation will only change because of the New model that the NYSE is implementing next month.

To prvent this from happening again, do not trade your home equity for a new car, and credit card debt, and spend the rest on vacations.

Prudent regulation over Hedge Funds, Speculators and CDO markets will create more transparency so the hanky panky that creates this mess will not happen again. Some of these CEO is need to prison to send a strong message that abuses in the financial system will not be tolerated.
