this should be possible. if you are paying taxes on him as a dependent and you care for him then l do not see why not. His status is no different that a child.

Dependent eligibility rules for group health insurance plans r established by the employer. I've seen thousands of benefit plans from employers across the country, & seen virtually zero where this was possible.

If u want to know for sure what is possible under ur specific plan, then u have to ask the HR person at ur work place or check ur policy under the ''eligibility'' section. However, do not get ur hopes up.employers r trying to cut costs, & adding an older generation to a health plan would make costs skyrocket.

It is highly unlikely that your employer is plan will allow you to add a parent. The vast majority of the time, it is defined as spouse and dependent CHILDREN. Not parent.
