I am about to earn about 10k for a short term job, how much tax will I have to pay and by when

Most of the time the employer is responsible for subtracting taxes from ur paycheck (because employers r required to pay certain taxes based on taxes u pay).

If this is not the case however, there r multiple taxes that u must pay on the money u recieve. However, the amount of money u pay does not only depend on this one large sum of money u r recieveing but on ur yearly gross income (before taxes r deducted).

Where u live also plays a part in the amount of taxes u pay because u r required to pay a State Income Tax that can be different for each state. l suggest u first talk to ur employer & see if they r going to deduct the taxes from ur paycheck.
