l have a direct debit that comes out of my account every month l get paid weekly by cheque and it takes 5 working days to clear.As it works out my account will have no cash in the account when the direct debit is due but my cheque will be in my account waiting to clear will the bank pay the direct debit on the strengh of the cheque.or will l be charged gfor going over my overdraft limit l am with lloyds tsb

l have several set up online & l can go into that account at any time & change the date . see if this is possible .

banks have a habit of subtracting all ur debits before processing all of ur credits . l have had an overdraft fee the same day a deposit cleared, it is just the order they do it in, so l am not sure what they will do . l have complained before & gotten the overdraft fee refunded, but there is no guarantee of this .

your best bet is to see if u can move the date of the debit a couple days .

Depending on your bank, some will pay the direct debit and charge the O/D, other banks will not pay the debit and still charge you the O/D. Either way, you will pay an O/D fee. Talk to someone at your bank and find out what their policy is. Is there any way to change the date of the debit? You should talk to that company and find out if you can change the date.
