If you lost your job today and could not find a new one, how much money would you need to pay your fixed expenses:Rent, food, utilities, car payment, etc?

l figure l need at least $2000 a month to survive and not be kicked out of the house. l spend about $3000 a month working now but could cut about $1000 in spending if necessary.

How about you, could you survive financially if you lose your job?

l have 6 months salary put away for just such an emergency. My father taught me this. l wish everyone would do this,Its the best advice

l have not worked since last December, & l was divorced & lost half of everything late last spring. l am a full-time college student, & share an apartment with 4 roommates in Seattle, WA. l have taken out some personal loans to cover expenses after my savings ran dry. I've been doing ok, but l am down to my last thousand out of the 5000 l borrowed. l think l need to sell my stocks next, but the market is crap at the moment. When l run out of money, l will probably just end it all. What is the point? But l digress, l need around $700/month.
