I've come up with the idea of a small tutoring business ive had for a while, and wanted your opinions on what you think and how l could improve it?

Anyways here goes.

l have employed 2 girls aged 17 who are both A-A* students in most or nearly all of their subjects.

l am also 17 years old and my job will be to run the business and do the general job that most boss is do like, make sure payments are in, make sure my employees are payed, print out leaflets etc.

My main reason as to why l think it could work is also the price l am offering. Most private tutors charge from 20-25 pounds an hour. l will be charging 15 pounds an hour, so already its cheaper which will attract more people im sure. l will pay my employees 5 pounds an hour which is a good price because most part time jobs are from 4-6 pounds an hour. The ten pounds will be for me to run the business like website upgrades, leaflets cost etc. and hopefully l will have a small share at the end of it.

That is is about it.

l would be more than gratefull if you could reply to this so l can imrpove or do what is necessary for this to work.

l think you might have some trouble with that.

Tutoring is very easy to self manage, and your tutors will soon realise they can make a lot more money by simply freelancing rather then staying with your scheme. As you said, they are smart students, they will figure that out. Giving a 33% commision is probably not the best way to go about things, particularly when you're probably talking about a low volume of hours.

Sounds good. l also think young people would be more interested in working with younger people than older people...perhaps they will feel they can speak to the two young girls more.

This could be a very good thing if you get it running properly.

l think you'd need abit of money to start off with though. Just for advertising and promoting the buisness. Good luck and l hope it all works out for you.
