l decided to make my own website at the start of this year. It seemed like at good idea at the time. l thought l would get the income from affiliate links so added a few of these. The site looked rubbish. l did not have much time the rest of the year to edit it as l had other tasks to do. l had a bit of spare time the other weeks so l thought to edit the website. l have changed the layout and content. Since the end of January l have received 988 unique visits. It was only last month l signed up to google adwords. l have only spent £3- £4 though. In September l got 218 unique visits and this month so far 188. Any suggestions with what to do with it. Feel free to have a look at the site. For being up for a year it should have a website rank and it doesnt. You need to submit your website to Alexa, Google, , and other engines. Maybe look into Google Adsense for extra money.

It is a nicely set out affiliate store but the problem is that u will never attract much traffic for several reasons. There is no real content & ur pages r not optimised for the search engines.

Here is some starters

Pick some keywords for ur pages -the search engines look for keywords to bring visitors to ur site. They look at the text in the page, the title tags looking for a match for those keywords. You need to get some keyword in content in ur web pages - even if u just add Title tags explaining the pages u will at least attract some traffic.

Add some real content about rings, watches , jewellery - maybe have pages on specific items & write short reviews or information about them using keywords like the model number or similar.

At the moment all it is a shop & the search engines will have no reason to bring visitors there - u need to develop the site with information - maybe some guides on buying watches, how to look after them etc.

Be careful with adwords u can lose lots of money - if u do use it set strict limits & target very specific words - e.g. the model of a certain watch & then send them to that page - never target vague words like watches as u will just lose money.

You need to take a new approach. l would suggest that first u scrap the current site, & write a blog. Write articles about rings. Different types for different occasions, review different designers, find out what the ring the celebs r wearing etc. etc. Then add a few adverts to a page, with text links in the articles pointing to pages on ur aStore.

l would suggest using wordpress.

The only way u will really make money using amazon is to rely on organic search (i.e. Google) & that means u need to put some real effort into building a good site.

try advertising it in a magazine or in a newspaper or you can list it in google is that the same as adwords?
