l have 1 1/2 years left before l hit the 7 year mark.

They have to sue you and obtain a jusgement.. after that, yes they can.

First, the 7 year mark does not discharge the debt, it merely wipes it off your credit report - you will still owe the credit card balances (and the 7 years starts from last activity). As for coming after your accounts and any other assets you have, yes they can. For more info on this, check out this article:
