l use to travel for my job before l got married. My career was in Corporate training until l accepted a new position that was offered me within my company.l really wanna go back to being a corporate training but my husband is use to me being home.In fact l work from home most of the time.l am wondering if there are any traveling wives out there that can give me some feedback on how it is going for you?Is it a strain on the marriage?l would limit my travel to 50% which would be about 2 days out of the week, and being home on the weekends.
l meant being a corporate trainer.
No kids yet, we would like to try for them in the near future though.
We have discussed it since day one, that l would eventually wanna get back into training. The position l took is great because it is very flexible and the pay is good for what it is.He says he would be supportive but l just wanna make sure it is right for both of us.
For the people who say l have no patience with other people... as a corporate trainer your job is to have patience.Anyone who has any experience in the field knows exactly what l am referring to.l am sorry that you are upset l do not agree with hitting a 1.5 year old child who is not potty trained yet.l stand by my comment that ''patience and supervision'' is required when rearing a child.

Thank you for your comments though!Even though not helpful or pertaining to the topic in any way.

l say go for it! Your husband can give you up two days a week can not he?

Do you have any kids? If not, there should be nothing holding you back. Two days out of the week is very minimal. He should be able to support your career ambitions.

l traveled with my job before l went out on maternity leave and it was great. My husband was always happy to see me when l got home ( if you know what l mean )- Plus they always say absence makes the heart grow fonder. It seems like he appreciates me more when l am home. I'd say go for it!!

Do not do it. It will definitly put a strain on your marriage and possibly even trust issues. If you have a good job now why change it?

Two days out of the week is not too much. My husband and l have the same arrangement and it is fine. Believe me, when we get back together it is worth the wait!. If you have the same kind of relationship, go for it.
Our careers' are extremely important to us and we make the most of what could be a tough situation.

My experience:
l used to work at home for five years while my daughter was toddler.
Then l got my second child & when he was 3, l found a great job, now I´m working about 54 hours a week & traveling 10% of the time.
l lost precious time to being in a better position before but now, l actually got it.
My husband & kids r very important to me, it was a sacrifice to my resume & at the end l think it worked.
When l was at home l had an acceptable income not as well as the one l have now. It is an important point to consider.
Now my kids r 10 & 5, they don´t really like me to travel too much, they miss me, they need me. In my case, my husband is respect-full about my decisions & he thinks my choice r Ok.
It all depends of ur goals & priorities.
l mean, for me, trying to find a good prestigious job not traveling much time when u have little kids is ideal.
l have friend who works traveling & they handle it & know other people who it doesn´t work. It all depends of what u need.
Hope to help in some way.
Good Luck !!

l agree with AngRae. You have no patience with other people, so you would and will be a terrible mother. Your husband will be lucky to have you gone for a few days out of the week.
