Ameriplan.....and others...how do they compare to regualr insurance. Money is short, do not qualify for medicaid...so I am thinking any discount will be better than nothing, but l do not wanna waste my money even if it is as low as $29.95

In response to below, we cover about 80% of the cost. Most of the time, it is less than a deductible would be with an insurance plan. All the providers listed with us accept it (500,000 providers).

Well, there r DISCOUNT plans, & there is INSURANCE.

The main difference is, discount plans NEVER EVER PAY OUT. They do not pay ANYTHING. You buy a LIST. There is no guarantee that the providers on the list, will actually give u a discount.

Plus, a 10% discount off a $200 office visit & $500 of lab work, leaves u paying, well, over $600.

With insurance, u get what u pay for. With discount plans, u get a piece of paper. THAT'S IT.

That is why u never buy these plans. They DO NOT COVER 80% of the cost. If she needed a license OR ANY QUALIFICATIONS whatsover to sell this plan she'd know that. All they need is about $49.95 & they can sell the plan. They COULD discount up to 80% BUT they could also discount ZERO.

Look at my home page for a warning on discount plans & to download the FTC warning. You're better off getting a $10,000 deductible which will likely cost less & give u a defined amount of risk. A $250,000 hospital bill with a discount plan could run u $250,000.
