Get someone to co-sign on a credit card for you, and then have them do all of the spending with the card that has your name on it.. EX: l had my dad take out a bank credit card in my name, and he uses it to pay the house bill, and buy groceries, and then pays it off for me at the end of the month with his debit card, so it builds my credit, and l do not really have to do anything. :)

the way l did it was to go to a credit union, open an account then l got a loan for $300 which was what l had in my savings. l had the payments come out of my savings and put some of the loan money into savings also. the payments are reported to credit unions and that is how l built credit! good luck.

Depends why you have no credit.

Your credit rating is based upon your reliabilty to pay back your borrowing, basically are you going to be a risk to the lenders.
If you have borrowed and not repaid it can be hard

If it is as simple as you have never been in a position for the neccesity to borrow or perhaps yu have just turned 18 there will be no credit file for you, honce no credit rating,, the best way to start it off it to get a contract phone.

l was discharged from bankruptcy in December. l applied for a credit card in January & was accepted. You probably wont' be able to get a low interest rate card with a large credit limit. You will have to start small & work ur credit up.

The credit card l got had a $35 annual fee, $7 minimal monthlty charge, & a $300 credit limit. After 3 months of paying on time & keeping a low balance, l was able to get a different credit card with a $3000 credit limit, & no annual fee with 16% interest rate. Not too bad.

If u r starting college (or in college) apply for a student credit card with the bank u bank with. They will give u a credit line ranging from $200-$700. Use the card to make ur purchases but be sure that u have enough cash to pay off the balance at the end of the month. Do not just pay the minimum balance. This will make interest collect & u will owe more than u actually spent. Essentially, u just want to make ur normal purchases on the card when u have the actual cash, just to build ur credit.
If u do not want to go that route, u could always get a cell phone account in ur name & by paying on time every month, ur credit score will strengthen. This goes for purchasing a car (most places have a first time buyer program.) Or getting a card at a large store- such as best buy, macy's, jc penny, sears, etc. will work as well. But, those r harder to get approved for because they do not understand ur lack of credit like programs that r designed for beginners do. Hope this helps!
