What does the mortgage loan officer look for on your bank statements?
l am submitting the required paperwork to process my mortgage. They are asking for my last two months bank statements. A few months ago, l made a banking error which resulting in my account to go negative and to be charged several overdraft fees. l am worried because this is showing up on the bank statement that l have to give them. Is this going to make my loan not go through? Could l just print off the last 60 days of transactions because it does not show up on that?

l am putting 20% down and my credit score is 750. l am stressing out about this. Am l screwed?

Do not stress, they r simply verifying ur income through bank statements & income tax returns (this info is not on ur credit report).
As to the overdrafts, well u r not the only one in life to do this, look at our own government, talk about overdrafts!

Your loan officer will most likely be more concerned as to whether or not u can afford the monthly payments. With 20% down & depending upon ur income & the price of the house u should get the mortgage, if not, try for another house, only buy one at a lower price.

IMPORTANT: Make sure ur loan officer makes any credit inquiries through various lenders all within 15 days, if he takes months or weeks it will place a lot of hard hits on ur credit report which will lower ur score. These inquiries will remain on ur credit report for 2 years so u do not want too many.

Give 'em the two statements. For some stupid reason, printing off the last 60 days transactions is not the same. They want actual statements.
