If they want people to work for them, then they have to look after the H&S and the welfare of their employees. This will keep work moral good and a productive workforce.

Because the law says they have too.

Section 2, of the Health & Safety at Work Act '74 set by the governent states that it is the duty of every employer to ensure so far as is reasonably practicable the health safety & welfare at work of all his employees.

Because if anything goes wrong, they could be in trouble for not paying attention to the Health and Safety at Work Act, it is the law that the employers look after who they employ, so that is exactly why they need to take into account the Health and Safety at Work and COSHH. (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.)

So that they are healthy and physical fit to contribute to the growth and success of the company they work for.
